The encoder is used to connect to an AV source signal (HDMI, camera, media player, PC or Server etc) and converted into a packetised network stream that’s compatible with an ethernet port/cable. The decoder takes the IP packets received over the ethernet and converts them back into an HDMI signal connecting directly to a display.
